Dress for wedding on a farm venue

Help please

I'm going to a wedding in June at a farm venue in the UK. I'll be flying in that morning so may not be able to iron it before I put it on.

I will probably start in wedges but go into flats later. I wear birks.

I'm 47, 5 7, soldi size 14. I'm well-proportioned, I hate that phrase but I don't have any particular areas that I want to focus on covering up or showing off. Toned but not slender. I need to wear a decent bra, have a flattish stomach, narrow shoulders.

I only like cotton, don't like long sleeves.

I like bright colours.

I don't like maxi or mini dresses. Above or below the knee is good, I appreciate not necessarily fashionable.

I am brunette with sallow skin and green eyes (Greek colouring) and I like strong reds, blues, green or maybe a pink with blue eyes. I don't wear black and obviously not white on this day. Yellow makes my teeth look stained. I don't like patterns generally except for polka dots which I love.

Please can somebody help, I've been looking for ages and can't find anything.

Budget 150.

I really like the dress AnonWho23 has suggested.
I appreciate this is a pattern but stripes are a bit like spots! and this just screamed farm venue yet wedding-ish, knee length and 100% cotton when teamed with the pink jacket in the pics.

This is slightly over budget, but Aspiga have a few cotton dresses

Omg thank you all so much. Why couldn't I find any of these? I think the Phase 8 is my favourite of these looking at the pics. I'm bad as describing why but it looks like it will sit on my figure in the most flattering way.

Your coloring would suit a silver grey or a chartreuse quite dramatically.

That is fabulous! And absolutely perfect for a farm wedding. Go for it!

Seconded! Fantastic find!

spoonbillstretford · 14/05/2025 00:27

Sorry, probably a bit too maxi.

Ok so I went a little off script as; it's officially a mini (but looks just above the knee on the model) and has a pattern. But I love it.

What do you all think?

It's gorgeous and fits the vibe perfectly.

That's lovely. Have fun at the wedding

Those straps are so thin - can you happily go bra-less? Wearing a strapless bra for a whole day and evening could get really annoying, and the back of the dress is so low that the back of the bra would keep poking out the top. It’s very cute but I think it would be annoying to wear because of the bra issue.

Is the farm in Surrey hills? If so I'll be at the same wedding.

A sapphire blue floaty number. Maxi with a split. Butterfly sleeves. I've had it a while so no link in afraid.
Although seeing the.puffball mini on here i may change my mind.

It's nice. Has it arrived yet?

That might work, but I’d worry you might need something more structured that will sit low enough at the back not to show. Or just get some of those stick-on boob support things if they work for you. I spent a day as a bridesmaid in a dress like that when I was size 23DD, with a strapless basque thing under the dress and I was so uncomfortable by the end of the evening. My sister in the same dress had actual bruises on her ribcage where her scaffolding ended up digging in.
