Is Max Studio a real brand, or a fake Tk Maxx brand?

I see this brand all the time in Tk Maxx, it has some nice things and I particularly like some of the current floral dresses (even though I'm not a floral dress person usually).

Prices are around £35 and they have labels on them with much higher 'original' prices, but I've never seen the brand anywhere else, is it real or just made for Tk Maxx?

Obviously it only really matters whether I like the item for the sale price (which I do) but I'm just curious. Is the 'original' label just there to make it seem better value?

I believe it's a TK Maxx brand. I have a gorgeous knitted grey winter dress, from this brand, that I have had for years! It's a dress I can dress up or down, and I love it!

I think it is/was a real brand from the USA but have only ever seen it in TKMaxx here

I think they're a real brand but with inflated RRP. I have the dress on the left which I got in TK Maxx. They do stock some obscure brands which I've only seen abroad.

I'm sure I had an outfit branded Max Studio which i bought about 15 years ago from a department store (can't remember which one - but probably John Lewis).

A quick dig around on tinterweb suggests that there was a brand called Max Studio but it seems to have ceased trading. Could be left over stock? Or TKMaxx have purchased the brand?

If you look on the care label inside the clothes you can normally see whether it's made for TK Maxx or not somewhere in the very small print.

I think it’s best with TKMaxx to ignore the RRP and just decide whether you like it at that price. There was a program I saw years ago about outlets and how a lot of the stuff is made just for them now - in the big name designer ones it’s just made at a lower quality level. In TK Maxx case they own a lot of the ‘brands’ they sell.

John Lewis used to sell Max Studio, don't know if they still do.

I just googled max studio and a website came up. And products on Amazon. So I’m assuming it’s not just to maxx. But probably sold to cheaper stores

Well my dress looks more like £120 than £35 so I'm happy either way, although it does seem a bit dishonest to put the inflated prices on the tags for the clothes which are made for them
