What colours go with terracotta?

Help!

I’ve recently purchased a lovely pair of Fatface terracotta trousers. Very lightweight and good for spring

The description said burgundy but on picking them up they are absolutely terracotta

I’m at a loss as to what to wear on top with them? I’ve got a white t shirt but only one.

Any other suggestions of colours that would compliment them (I do like a splash of bold colour and not afraid to clash if it works iykwim)

I immediately thought navy would be nice.

Sky blue or navy

I second navy - terracotta was a v popular colour for walls many years ago and navy went really well with it. Olive green and sage green also work.

Thank you so much. These are great suggestions! I will see if I have anything navy And I love Green! I’ve got loads of green tops but they are all apple green which really doesn’t go when I’ve held it up. But Sage and Olive Green a great shouts!

A very light beige linen type of colour, not at all yellowish though.
Navy or black both v nice.

Cream, green, navy, pale pink, mustardy yellow.

Whenever I’m stuck for colours I’ll put “[colour] color palette” into Pinterest or Google and it returns some good inspo. The American spelling tends to get better hits.

You can also upload a pic to ChatGPT and ask it to build a colour wheel or colour palette, so handy! I’ve been spending a lot of time decorating my house lately can you tell 😂

Pale pink or coral, nice tonal look.

Coral, cream, navy, pale pink/peach, teal, brown and I quite like bright/fuchsia pink.

I have a couple of terracotta cardigans and I wear grey with them, dark and light

Edited to add: this colour also looks great with denim, especially indigo
