Daith piercing mistake 😳

Stillstanding54 · 08/05/2025 17:02

So I had this piercing done today and at the time thought the earring cute and unusual
Now looking at the photo it looks huge and ugly. I’ve got to leave it in until it heals enough to have it changed I suppose 🙁
Any suggestions about what I could wear in the other piercings to try and make the daith look better until such times? 😭

I dislike piercings other than ear lobes but I also think it looks great. It’s unusual in a good way!

How long are you expecting to wait until you can change it?

Mine has taken 8 months to heal, my piercer said it’s best to wait until fully healed before changing it. It’s a sensitive piercing, if you irritate too much it can take longer to heal.

PrincessSakura · 08/05/2025 18:02

And apologies as I know you didn’t ask me but thought I’d share from my own experience.

BeretRaspberry · 08/05/2025 18:39

I’m another person who only wears one earring in each so rather boring, and I also love it!!! It looks really good.

SeeMyReflection · 08/05/2025 18:49

I think it doesn’t really go with your other earrings. Maybe change some of the others and it might look better?

User0311 · 08/05/2025 18:53

I bloody love it!

Gettingbysomehow · 08/05/2025 19:27

I think it's very nice. What I can't stand is a face full of rings. A small nose ring is OK like the bull ring and lips and cheeks look gross.

InternetRandoms · 08/05/2025 19:33

They’re from Etsy and are sterling silver -RainSilverRain

She is a fab seller. I can’t wear silver but have bought loads of gold plated ones off her. She even sent me a load of backs when I asked if it was possible to buy one as I’d lost one off a pair I’d bought from her and couldn’t find replacements that fitted.

I too love it op. It looks great.

I really like that! I can relate though as I also have earring choice regret with my daith and can’t wait until I can change it.

What earring did you have yours done with?

It looks ace! my daith is one of my favourites and was the least sore as doesn’t rest on pillows or get banged

Pinktruffle · 08/05/2025 22:17

I really love it, so much so I think I might want one!

Oblomov25 · 09/05/2025 06:02

It looks great. It's the perfect size.

Shwish · 09/05/2025 06:37

I like it. I'm jealous because I don't have the correct anatomy for a daith piercing.
I think you just need to get used to it. I was the same with my nostril piercing. Really not sure about the jewellery for a few days but now I love it.
I think if you switch the tragus to a small stud the overall effect will be less overwhelming

ChandrilanDiscoDroid · 09/05/2025 10:01

Yeah I love my daith piercings and they're so much easier to heal than my helixes were. I think you probably just need to get used to it, but if you genuinely want to not draw attention to it I'd just keep small studs in everything else. That piece is designed to be a centrepiece whatever way you look at it.

ChandrilanDiscoDroid · 09/05/2025 10:02

P.s. my daith was just done with curved barbells, so I couldn't even see them while it was healing. I have a jewelled hoop in now, which I loooooove, but you could have the piercer swap in barbells if you want something more low key.

Glittertwins · 09/05/2025 13:16

just showed DD as she has this and multiple other piercings and she was surprised it was pierced with this rather barbells but we both like the jewellery itself.

theemmadilemma · 09/05/2025 14:52

I like it! It’s simple enough.

Stickortwigs · 09/05/2025 14:54

I LOVE it.

Stillstanding54 · 11/05/2025 09:03

i really wasn’t happy or comfortable with the Daith/Jewellery so I went back to my piercer and explained.
We decided to remove the Daith and go for a Rook with a sparkly top
Much happier now
(Glad it was not a Tattoo!!! 😂)
Thanks all

Looks good with the rest of the jewellery too

Tbrh · 11/05/2025 09:37

I like it, it looks great

Funderthighs · 11/05/2025 10:48

So long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters 😃

potplants · 11/05/2025 11:28

Bit late to the party but :

My daith was pierced with a hoop . it was quite big ( about the size of your original) so the bit that sits in the skin is flatter ( or something )
It had a crystal that kept moving round so I couldn't see it !
I did get used to the hoop quite quickly , it tucked away nicely in my ear , only problem was I couldn't see it but other people could !

I had it changed after two years to a small gold hoop . And I am happy with this so keeping in situ .

How was the rook painwise ?

I've had daith , forward helix and tragus , none I'd say where painful but the helix was a little git healing . It has healed ( 2 years on) but sometimes get slept on so feels a bit sore after
