Wedding guest dress for 12 year old?

I’m looking for a smart summer dress for DD12 to wear to a wedding. She’s quite slim and we find it that a lot of dresses that are long enough hang off her. She’s blond and has a strong aversion to pink. She has a definite preference for blue or lavender colours?

I’ve not got a massive budget but can go up to about £40-50 if need be.

please give us some pointers…

What sort of size is she? Ever-pretty have a huge range of dresses that start at a size 6 and they are very reasonably priced. I have 2 or 3 of their dresses and they are great quality. They might be too dressy but there is a big selection so a bit of a starting point to look at to see what style she like!

Next have a good selection and you could look at jumpsuits too.

Thanks - she really is quite slender - the Next ones hang off her unless she sizes down to age 9-10- but then they are very short! ( I have the opposite problem- but she takes after her dad!)

That Lipsy dress is good

Try Monsoon if she wants something dressy or Mango Kids if she wants more casual (they have one or two nice jumpsuits too)

H&M worth a look too, good for slim leggy kids although they don’t do much smart stuff

La Redoute is also good for slim kids although may not be long enough

I would go into adult sizing.

My DD had to go to a size 6 because kids clothes were just the wrong shape for her (slim tiny waist and bigger hips).

You will probably get something for her in a 4/ 6 which is a better length/ fit for her than a kid age 12 (especially Next which is huge).
