Face feels weird after botox and filler

Ok writing that title and it feels a bit obvious that after the first time getting filler and botox im probably going to feel weird but wonder if anyone can confirm they had this and was temporary? And if it is, do further visits have less of this effect as it becomes maintenance?

I'm only 5 days in, had brow botox, cheek filler and lip flip. I know the Lip Flip will take 2 weeks to settle down and only lasts 8 weeks but does it retreat in the same way it kicks in I.e. currently cant purse lips to whistle and when I chew I get a hole to one side when keeping my mouth shut and I have a weird fuzzy feeling abive my top two teeth, like an itch but inside my teeth.

I also feel like I am biting on an overbite more/jaw clenching and I keep feelong that my cheek muscles are tensed- I'm struggling to relax my jaw and cheeks and it does not create a flattering jawline when im biting on this back teeth.

Anyone experienced either of these and can tell me what lays in store? I'm happy with the effects so really hoping my face will begin to unclench a bit soon!

I'm wondering if I need masseter botox to relax my jaw but then that could create jowls which will need filler etc and im just creating more problems for myself!!

I don't know about the technicality, but it does sound quite the experience having all of these together! I hope you feel better soon

They didn’t do all these treatments together did they?! Because that’s a major red flag if they did.

lipflips feel awful for like the first 10 days. (I’m an aesthetics nurse and also had it done myself). I felt like I was eating in slow motion for the first week then it settled. Did they use actual Botox?

cheek filler I have never had and wouldn’t do as I don’t agree with it so I can’t comment.

facial Botox shouldn’t hurt or feel uncomfortable. It should just be abit slower to move and gradually go to no movement in the treated areas if done correctly and with a genuine product.

Yes they were all done together but im glad of that - it was for facial balancing and felt minimal - cheek fillers then a bit of botox in brows and 4 for lip flip. I appreciate that's a red flag to you but im confident in the clinic so far...

So I know it takes 2 weeks for full effect, so once it's settled in it will feel less weird?

Why dont you agree with cheek filler? Too late now for me but im curious!!

Last time I had lip filler and nasolabial filler I couldn’t whistle or make a few faces for a week or so. It’s hard to wash my face too until it settles a bit. Botox doesn’t have that effect though, apart from frowning but that doesn’t happen immediately.

My face has never felt weird after botox

IAmAboutToLoseMyShit · 06/05/2025 21:22

I've had botox, cheek filler, chin filler and lip filler all in the same day. Your face will feel "weird". It's been jabbed and poked and prodded and will most likely be slightly swollen. It'll settle down in a day or so.
If you're concerned, go back to the practitioner that did it and they'll be able to advise. I've been having these treatments for years and remember panicking the very first time. Totally normal to be a bit worried, but unless you're in pain or swelling up really bad I wouldn't be too concerned.

Hallywally · 06/05/2025 21:34

If it’s your first time having the treatments it’s a red flag to me because they don’t know how you’re going to respond. You could have complications or allergic reactions to Botox and filler. Hope everything goes smoothly & you feel better.

FaceOrf · 06/05/2025 21:38

@Hallywallyits not a red flag to have the treatments at the same time. Experienced doctors do it all at the same time to balance facial symmetry and anyone who is going to have an allergic reaction will likely have it immediately in clinic. Good clinics usually offer people the chance to go back after two weeks and have top ups or tweaks as well.

JellieT0tz · 07/05/2025 11:05

Yes I am back next week for checking over and if I need anything changing so im confident in the practitioner. I think it's early days and I probably had a panic yesterday!

I’d be worrying about pillow face with that lot! Where is chin filler placed?
