I love wedges but I am very tall and cant wear the huge heeled ones that are all over the place!

What do you think of these? Old fashioned or ok?

OP posts:
BroccoliSpears · 18/05/2008 21:28

I think frumpish.

I suppose it depends on what you look like and what you wear with them.

scanner · 18/05/2008 21:28

dire

marymungoandmidge · 18/05/2008 21:33

triffictits · 18/05/2008 21:35

ok, thanks, knew I could count on you all! Now.... can you find me some nice wedges that are not too high. I've hunted everywhere!

OP posts:
maidamess · 18/05/2008 21:36

The ones with the single big buckle in the middle are 1000 times better.

ash6605 · 18/05/2008 21:39

Frumpy-sorry!!

I have the same problem,I LOVE wedges but can't cope with the height of them.

So please could all you lovely mumsnetters help triffictits(fab name btw!) and me find some lovely, fashionable wedges that are not impossible to walk in??

mumsytastic.

Frumptasic

Don't buy them.

There are some nicer ones in Peacocks and they are £12

MargaretMountford · 18/05/2008 21:59

no, they aren't any better !

peacelily · 18/05/2008 22:01

Per Una stuff is v hit and miss, lots of it v dubious but with the odd "find".

All these shoes are horrible!

marymungoandmidge · 18/05/2008 22:03

agree Peacelily ...look if you were about 58 slightly chubby with a bit of a look of Babs Windsor about you then I'd say go for it -otherwise forget it !

controlfreakyagain · 18/05/2008 22:04

have seen them in the flesh. they are NOT NICE (heels / wedge bit partic. horrid).

twinsetandpearls · 18/05/2008 22:04

frumpy

belcantavinissima · 18/05/2008 22:08

frumpy and old ladyish.

maidamess · 18/05/2008 22:11

Actually it was the brown ones with the buckle. they looked a bit less fly flotty.

cheesesarnie · 18/05/2008 22:12

frumpy

rookiemater · 18/05/2008 22:14

They are hideous

harpomarx · 18/05/2008 22:22

they are truly vile.

like a pair of slippers with pretensions!

loads of wedges around at the mo, just seen these yellow ones and I have pondered these a few times in topshop (look better in the flesh and wouldn't go for navy blue!). For something more neutral these? Might be a bit high though.

triffictits · 19/05/2008 13:18

those navy blue ones are awful harpo, but I do like the yellow ones. I just want some slip on wedges that are not too high - I dont even mind what colour they are.

OP posts:
chocchild · 19/05/2008 19:02

They are borderline frumpy. If you are tall, slim and model like then you will get away with them as long as your toes are pretty. I hate feet, especially long, thin toes and those will really show off your toes as the peep toe bit is bigger than necessary.

brimfull · 19/05/2008 19:03
