Product that you use before holiday to help you tan and not burn?

I should preface this by saying I’m not a sun worshipper! However, I do like to get a nice, light, natural tan on holiday if I can.

Trouble is, if I use anything over factor 15 on my body, I just don’t tan, because I only spend about an hour a day sunbathing. But if I use 15 I do tend to burn.

I swear I read ages ago a few people on here saying that they use something a week or so before they go on holiday that helps them to tan without burning.

Anyone know what it could be?

It's called a tan activator. I've not used it but seen some advertised. Ultrasun do one.

Tan accelerator. I use the Gatineau one from about a month out. I also take anti histamines for 10 days before I go, change my skin care to water based and use factor 30. I am pale and burn and I am prone to prickly heat on my face which isn’t nice.

This is not a product but if you expose yourself to medium UV before leaving home, e.g 20 min at lunchtime if you have a garden to sit out in a bikini in, you will be less likely to burn when you are on holiday.

Exposure to early morning and evening sun is also good for your skin if you can find the time!

I take Thalgo sun ocea tablets for 1 week pre holiday, during the holiday, and one week post holiday and this helps a lot
