No fade hair dye

I have mid-dark brown with grey hair and like to colour it chocolate brown with a tinge of red. Even permanent colours are fading badly and certainly not lasting 12 weeks! What does everyone else use?
Also, each to their own but I have absolutely no intention of greying naturally or ageing gracefully.

Depends on your hair type - mine for a noticeable colour eg I once had pink highlights same time as a friend, mine lasted 2-3 weeks after which there was no pink left, hers lasted till it grew out. I was told it was to do with the hair type not the dye (same dye for both of us). Recall in the late 1970s having similar issue with tight curly perms (that were popular then) not holding in my hair, by week 4 a smidge of a wave left. Unfair, but I don't waste my ££ now.

The best I've found has been the Schwarzkopf stuff that's £2 a box. But it will still fade a bit. I have to leave it on my roots a bit longer than the instructions say.

Since I have to colour every 2 weeks due to regrowth, the fading isn't major.
