Pic attached. I don’t really have time to order online before I go on holiday - searched yesterday but wondered if anyone has seen these or similar on the high street please?

I've been looking for these too - Claire's accessories have them apparently. Disclaimer - I haven't seen them in an actual shop...

This is one of those things that's all over social media - I keep getting ads for dodgy websites selling them - but nowhere IRL.

I think they look great, why did no one think of this before? I ordered some from Amazon.

CurlewKate · 27/04/2025 11:40

You can get next day delivery on Amazon-I just did! Those very ones….

RandomMess · 27/04/2025 11:41

These look fab please let me know how they work out.

DinoLil · 27/04/2025 11:51

They look genius! I use the claw clips that you pinch to open iyswim. They're a literal pain when there's a seat rest behind you (car, settee). I definitely need these in my life, thank you!!!!!

Exactly. I want them for driving and also exercise classes where you have to lie on the floor! I will report back after they arrive.

Nugg · 29/04/2025 17:04

thanks everyone! I don’t have prime or anything but managed to get my basket up to a free delivery position - surprise surprise so I’ll report back when they come!

I’m disappointed in mine. I have mid length fine hair and they just don’t hold it.😥Guess my dil just got lucky!

Can you not get the same as her? Mine is slippy hair and it didn’t feel “safe” but it did hold!

No help for shops but just to say I use them and they are so much better than a claw clip especially when driving

Sorry-I meant I’ll be passing mine on to her!🤣 I’ll give them another try today, though.

They have been around for at least 20 years in various designs. I’ve had them in and off for a long time. They dint hold hair as well as traditional claw clips though.

They don’t grip well as traditional claws. I’ve had them on and off for years. Different ones. They are a bit crap for my straight hair because they don’t ’grab’ from both sides. They just hold on with verticals spikes which allows hair to slide out. Maybe curly hair works better

jay55 · 03/05/2025 09:06

I got some, the first one broke as I opened it.
And despite saying they are for thick hair I don’t think they can hold more than 20% of mine.

LavenderBlue19 · 03/05/2025 09:08

I don't find they work very well. I have quite thick hair and even if I only do a half up, they fall out.

Has everyone else been freaked out by the stories of women getting claw clips stuck in their heads in car accidents? 😬

I had never heard of that but I am freaked out now! Eeekkkk!!

MadKittenWoman · 03/05/2025 09:59

I use these all the time. Boots sometimes do a version but they break easily.

HotCrossBunplease · 03/05/2025 10:29

I keep seeing ads for these on Facebook) has anyone tried them? I have quite fine slippy hair. They look too good to be true!

The pic is of the most expensive brand but I think there are a few dupes.

I’m too old for a “messy bun” to look like anything except that I forgot to brush my hair so they didn’t work for me! I can make my hair neat with the
vertical kind.

Sorry was that with reference to the Fiona Franchimons @CurlewKate ? The ads don’t show messy bun styles, it’s all very neat and sleek. I don’t do messy buns either.

Ihateboris · 03/05/2025 11:30

Omg, these are brilliant. I actually slept in mine last night and couldn't feel thing! For reference I have thick, long hair.

Yes, I keep getting the car horror stories on my feeds. I only use them to clip my hair up for showering.

Yes I have these and a dupe version. They are great once you get the hang of them.

thesoundofwildgeese · 03/05/2025 16:01

eBay has them too:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/167383158058

I've never used this type, I use the claw type but find that after a while the metal pin that keeps the spring in place works its way out or one side of the claw cracks.
