URGENT question about false eyelashes!

I'm going to a fancy dress party tonight as Carrie Bradshaw aka SJP. So I'm wearing extremely high, rather silly shoes, a short, tight, stretchy skirt, a vest top, and a big chiffon overshirt. Accessorising with a gigantic corsage and a silly over the top beaded clutch bag.

Question. Should I wear false eyelashes? Does Carrie? Would Carrie? And if so, how the hell do I put them on and do I do eye makeup before or after? And can I do false eyelashes and black liquid eyeliner?

I have a slight fear of looking like a transvestite trying to look like Carrie Bradshaw.... all help gratefully received!

I'd go with the false eyelashes, they're fun, and after all it is fancy dress. Do eye make up first, then apply the lashes, and finish with a slick of liquid eyeliner to hide the 'seam' where the lashes meet your eyelid.

how are your own lashes? i am astounded, there absolutely pages of stuff on how to do a carrie. i always thought it a bit dull looking really, clothes are more the star.

I might have a go, having watched one of the videos. Scared about using false eyelashes after doing the makeup though - what if I stuff it up?! Never worn false eyelashes before. My own are perfectly adequate for day to day use.....

If you do eye make up after, teh falsies will fall off. In fact they'll fall off anyway, but only after you've spent hafl the evening thinking they're still firmly attached (teh voice of experience)

I wasn't suggesting they weren't chonky! But fishie did ask how my own were....

The eyelashes were a triumph! I shall be wearing them regularly from now on. And they didn't fall off until everyone was much too pissed to notice...

I drank 5 moscow mules, which is about the level of units I normally consume in 6 months. I feel ever so slightly like Mule Poo this morning.... [sob]
