Help! I’m only 46!

What on earth can I do about my face, eyes particularly? I’m only 46 and this accidental photo has made me realise that I look at least twice that!

I looked much younger than my age for a long time and got away with just daily moisturiser. I’ve been really unwell over the last few years with long stays in hospital (including many months in ITU) and it has really aged me.

Any suggestions for what to do and use? I have lots of allergies so run my eyes a lot. Also not keen to do Botox or anything for the same reasons. nice simple skincare plans please!

Sounds like you have really been through it op, best wishes for the rest of your recovery. The second picture looks much fresher.

I would start simply now with a nice face wash, I use Cerave, then hyaluronic acid, followed by a moisturiser.

Keep hydrated and when you can, a nutrient rich diet with good quality vitamin capsules.

This photo, take today, doesn’t look quite so bad, does it?
Filled lots of online baskets ready to crack tho when I get discharged!

This picture looks a lot better :-)

You just need a simple routine from now on. You are right to think about something that’s maintainable as you’ll stick with it, rather than multiple different steps.

A nice balm cleanser (there are loads out there). A hyralauronic serum, moisturiser (preferably with sunscreen) and as per my pp a dab of Vaseline to protect your skin from your eyes watering.

I use skin+Me at night for the Tretinoin but it also contains azelaic acid and niacinamide all in one. I use it after I cleanse I use the inkey list oat cleansing balm, it's great for sensitive skin and removes mascara easily. In the morning I use a hyaluronic acid serum and a moisturiser that contains vit c and spf. I've recently started drinking a collagen powder but I haven't noticed a difference yet!

Link fir a free month of skin+Me just £2.95 p&p (it gets me £10 off my next month if you use it)

Lots of good advice already but just to add, in case it helps, I suffered blepharitis and itchy eyes for years and then gave up gluten and a happy side effect was that my eyes completely stopped itching!
