What goes with this dress??

I’ve got the dress below for a wedding I’m attending in September. It’s only straps so need something to throw over it if I need to. I’m preparing for warm/cool weather as it’s September.

any ideas for jackets/shawls or anything else that would go over it?

The problem with a dress like that is that it's an evening dress and it's not intended to have anything over it.

Obviously you wear a coat or jacket to get from your home to the venue. Any smart coat or jacket (or any coat or jacket really) will do as you'll take it off at the venue.

If it's for travelling to and from church and to the venue then any smart coat. If you think the venue will be too cold once you take your coat off, then possibly a shawl around your sholders if and when needed and hope there's lots of energetic dancing.

Or possibly an oversized black jacket- like a man's black tie dinner jacket? You could keep that on indoors.

A soft black pashmina draped over the arms? That should be enough to keep the chill off your shoulders.

What colour shoes and bag? You could go for a jewelled/beaded shawl if that's your thing.

As the dress is silky I'd either match with a silky material or go to the opposite and have a soft cotton fabric.
