I need to up my game and use more hand cream. But the back of my hands (I'm 50+) look particularly tired and wrinkly right now - any recommendations?

Only one that works for me is the Neutrogena Norwegian one. Tried lots of new and improved ones but it's this old faithful that does best.

Nivea Q10. I've been using it for years. It's got sun protection in it, but I also wear actual sun cream on my hands if it's very sunny. And I'm a great believer in gloves every day in the winter.

Remember to apply your UV face cream to your hands when you are moisturising in the morning. The sun protection is the key to anti-aging. I just use Nivea Q10 on my face and it works fantastic on my hands.

@Time40do you recommend any particular gloves?
OP I’ve tried to Rejuvenating anti aging spf hand cream by I think by neutrogena but I don’t like the feel of it. I prefer aveeno dry skin relief but is not got spf. I might take to wearing those gloves from Edwardian times in the summer but they’d be filthy in a minute or two. I’ll give the Nivea q10 a go perhaps. My hands are so dry and wrinkly unless I’ve put cream on and I’m younger than you. I wash my hands a lot and am outside in all weathers and also gardening so they take a battering from the elements.

Anything that you use regularly will help

i recently had a massage and was advised to wear spf 50 on my face (I usually wear spf30), chest and hands.

i bought something suitable but very quickly realised how often I wash my hands so it seems pretty pointless. I’m just focusing on moisturising them well before bed every night for day to day

Time40 · 21/04/2025 23:26

do you recommend any particular gloves?

@LegoTherapy No, just any normal gloves, any time it's cold enough to wear them. I'm convinced that a lifetime of glove-wearing is partly why my hands are in very good shape. I have also thought of doing that Victorian ladies thing and getting summer gloves ... haven't done it yet, but I think it's a good idea.

I also swear by using washing up gloves for dishes and cleaning. I use hand cream several times a day and have one in every room in the house and my bags haha. I've used all sorts from cheap to expensive and I really like Nivea as well.

I apply hand cream religiously and use spf50 gloves when I’m driving

henlake7 · 22/04/2025 19:18

Same as a PP I've found that as long as I apply a really good quality hand cream before bed my hands don't get too bad (and I wash them often during the day, hardly ever remember hand cream afterwards!).
