Has anyone heard of the Stripe Payment System?

I want to buy a product online. The only way that they'll accept payment is via the above. Is it safe?
I said I'd rather use PayPal, and they've suggested that they'd send the product and I could pay them when it was delivered.
It's a tret product for anyone wondering.

Yes it's just a payment platform, popular with small businesses as the fees are generally cheaper than bigger institutions.

Yes we used it with the PTA at the last school

Also Birmingham science museum their contactless in store and online is powered by stripe apparently same company

Always an extremely sensible idea asking this sort of thing. One day the answer might be "no it's definitely not safe to use" and you'll be thankful you asked. Online financial safety is so important.
