It looks like something Carla from Corrie would have worn 15 years ago. Also, they have the material as Chiffon so that would be polyester?

IHaveAlwaysLivedintheCastle · 20/04/2025 23:36

It's awful. And I bet it was never actually sold at £31.98.

foxyfour · 21/04/2025 07:16

That kid of waist band suits me OP but overall I am not keen on the top. I find it hard to find tops with that waist band that do look well made and are nice.

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 21/04/2025 10:10

It looks awful. It makes the model look big, and you can see from the video that she isn't.

Lascivious · 21/04/2025 10:14

It’s cheap and looks it. It also looks highly flammable.

megacat · 21/04/2025 10:24

It’s awful, the chunky zip at the front was briefly in fashion about 15 years ago, the arms cut that way and stopping at the elbow is always deeply unflattering, the tight waistband will be both uncomfortable and unflattering and the material looks like it will spontaneously combust. Definitely old lady on holiday vibes.

Overtheatlantic · 21/04/2025 10:47

Just stop with the ageist comments. None of you are clever with your old lady in Benidorm comments. It’s an unattractive top no matter the age of the woman wearing it.

But when you say old lady in Benidorm that conjures up a certain image, no? I’m not saying all old ladies wear that type of clothing, but there are a certain type who do. It’s purely being descriptive not ageist.

It conjures up for me posters who don't understand they are being ageist.

It's a ghastly outfit. It looks cheap and with that fitted bottom strip actually draws attention to what the poster is trying to hide.

This sort of shape will do exactly what is needed [ posted only for example of shape, I'm aware it's pricey]

Yes I get the type you mean. I have images of Polly from Eldorado in my head. It's the sort of thing she would wear on a night out with a pair of white trousers and some gold sandals.

It's also very 80s, Jan from Howard's Way, waffty sleeves

Poonu · 21/04/2025 11:30

Does look super cheapy.

Moier · 21/04/2025 11:36

Shein and Temu sell them much cheaper.

What do you think of this top (meno belly)

You’re going to have to explain to me in that case exactly how you define ageist. You don’t see young women dressing like that. Unless you’re old and dress like the stereotype stop with your faux offended nonsense.

Doubleraspberry · 21/04/2025 14:06

Have a look for the more expensive versions on Vinted, OP. You’ll find what you need.

oddandelsewhere · 21/04/2025 14:13

Have you heard of the Chinese cardigan scam? Companies (from China) advertise very cheap clothing, then what arrives is even worse than the pictures. They just want your bank details. Be careful!

Did you check the website and the model? Beams Boy is a Japanese brand aimed at, for want of a better word, people who are sneered at on here as "fashionista'.

And yes, it is worn by young woman. 3 of the most stylish under 35s in my office wear similar to that.

But I am an old lady 😀 I’m just not in Benidorm. Plus, they were as awful in the 80s as they are now.

Agree with @Overtheatlantic Melyr is excellent, and their tops are really long in length and flatter my meno belly perfectly! Love the Aimee and Nico particularly https://www.melyr.co.uk/products/aimee-espresso
