Help! I need to find an outfit for a garden party ....... not any old garden party, it's one at Buckingham Palace!

And I'm a boardies and flip flops kinda gal, so I don't think Roxy will do this time.

I'm 5'4" with 34H boobs. Size 12 bottoms, top 16-18 depending on what it is. I think I'm a vase according to Trinny & Co.

Budget is around £100 tops, including shoes.

So what do you lovely ladies suggest?

PerkinWarbeck · 16/05/2008 20:02

DelGirl · 16/05/2008 20:03

is this to do with dh? do tell. How are you matey . Been meaning to ask you and dd over. What are you up to apart from mixing with royalty.

As for outfit, have no idea, sorry. Put a call out to pph

brimfull · 16/05/2008 20:05

So I'm guessing a stretchy fabric would work best to fit in the Hcup norks-yes?

I'll have a google.

PerkinWarbeck · 16/05/2008 20:05

JackieNo · 16/05/2008 20:06

Chewable · 16/05/2008 20:07

I think a garden party at BH is just any old garden party though.

Though also think you should make good effort. With gloves.

brimfull · 16/05/2008 20:08

bravissimo dress needs some nice striking necklace and shoes to tart it up with.

JackieNo · 16/05/2008 20:09

ggirl - exactly what I was going to suggest.

brimfull · 16/05/2008 20:13

great minds jackie!

blithedance · 16/05/2008 20:17

Yes any dress from Bravissimo with your statistics. Can you get into a branch to try on? DH has been to Buck Palace garden party, the look for ladies was summery dress, heels (although beware grass-spiking) and HAT. You could try a scarf or wrap to glam the dress up too, embroidered pashmina or something. You will be standing around and queuing for ages!

JackieNo · 16/05/2008 20:18

Wedges, to avoid the grass spiking - more comfortable too.

Surfermum · 18/05/2008 20:13

Ooh thank you ladies! Will go back and look at the links now. I had no idea Bravissimo did dresses.

We've been invited because dh is involved with the South Atlantic Medal Association (Falklands). I told them at work at they said "blimey, you'd better not go dancing on the chairs there". Do you think I can behave for the afternoon .

That's a handy hint that we'll be queuing for ages. Had better make sure I have comfortable footwear.

No Birkies (according to PPH). I am going on 8 July - when are you going?

Surfermum · 18/05/2008 20:54

Lol, ok that's the reefs out then! We're going on 21 July. Do you have your outfit?
