Does this look like a lot of hair growth for 4 months? I feel like it’s not a lot but someone said it is. Also to add there is a line of different colour between the dark and my natural roots so wondered if this is why they think it has grown lots

It’s good if your hair grows quickly. Yes that’s above average I’d say. Mine grows about 6 inches a year.

neverhappenedtopablopicasso · 18/04/2025 07:59

Oh hang on, that’s assuming you mean down to the start of the lighter part? Did you not mean that?

SaladSandwichesForTea · 18/04/2025 08:00

How much has it grown in inches?

SoScarletItWas · 18/04/2025 08:00

Looks about average to me, perhaps a little bit quicker. I’ve heard the saying ‘a year to the ear’ when people are growing out hair dye, and you look on track for that.

You can’t do anything about it though, it takes as long as it takes 🤷🏼‍♀️

I assumed OP meant to here (pic will appear after review)

Ah I needed to turn the brightness up on my phone to see that. Looks normal to me.

RentalWoesNotFun · 18/04/2025 08:18

Same as mine. So I’m presuming that’s average!

I went to the hairdresser a couple of days ago. Sooo happy to not have roots showing now!!

I always underestimate how good I feel after going and prioritise other financial things first before ‘wasting’ money on hairdressers’ but I’m thinking I should change my priorities!

ijustdontknow01 · 18/04/2025 08:34

@SoScarletItWas@neverhappenedtopablopicasso
it’s so hard to tell where my natural hair actually ends but I think it’s more like here which is why I was asking as think other people think the same as you and it’s where the light meets the dark. Unfortunately I have this strip inbetween which is where I used to get my roots done

Why are you asking, @ijustdontknow01? What’s your aim?

To grow your hair longer?

To deal with the regrowth?

The solution to the first one is only time.

The second can be blended by a hairdresser to make the regrowth line less obvious (although I think our confusion and your friends have shown it isn’t as bad/obvious as you might be thinking!)

justmeandmyselfandi · 18/04/2025 09:01

Mine probably would grow that much in 6 weeks, it's becoming a pain I need to dye my hair every 2 weeks now as I have very obvious regrowth with greys. I couldn't even notice your regrowth (still can't) until you put the line to show how much it had grown

ijustdontknow01 · 18/04/2025 09:15

@SoScarletItWas I’m growing out my hair dye as want to go back to natural colour and I feel like it’s really slow growth. I was surprised when someone commented it was a lot of growth so was just after other peoples opinions

For what it's worth, mine has only grown maybe an inch in 4 months, maybe not quite that. I'd love long swishy hair but my hair doesn't like growing.

GeorgianaM · 18/04/2025 14:19

My hair growth is slower over winter but takes off in the Spring and grows very quickly, so if you're disappointed in how much it's grown over winter tee you may be like me and see it growing a little faster now.
