Am I too old/fat too wear this?

this

I am 29 and a size 14, according to the shop assistant and DP it looked nice as a dress, but could also be worn as a floaty top.

I am a bit concerned as I have quite chunky thighs and it came a couple of inches above my knees.

Yes or no?

Too old at 29? No, no, no. You must ABSOLUTELY wear whatever you want at 29.

I bet it'll be great, if worried about legs get some flattering shoes?

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 16:51

no you'll look brill and never too old to wear whatever the hell you like

wessexgirl · 16/05/2008 16:51

I'd definitely have worn that as a dress when I was 29 (I'm a 14 too). In fact, I'd wear it as a top now, and I'm 10 years older than you.

You like it, DP likes it, and it won't show your thighs anyway. It's nice.

cheesesarnie · 16/05/2008 16:52

its lovely!

Mercy · 16/05/2008 16:52

Of course you are not too old or big! Agree it would be best with trousers.

What colour would be best?

scampadoodle · 16/05/2008 17:07

It's lovely. If you are conscious of your thighs (as I am!) then you may feel more comfortable wearing it over trousers or jeans. Gorgeous colours.

Seasider · 16/05/2008 17:26

It's gorgeous.

As Mercy said, you're not old or big, (but are clever as you are getting this garment!)

If you like it, wear it (haven't even looked TBH). People should wear exactly what they want and remember that anyone who criticizes your choice of clothing is a small-minded moron who probably isn't getting enough sex.

MummyPenguin · 16/05/2008 17:35

Celebrate your curves daaahling.

LemonTart · 16/05/2008 17:39

It is lovely. If you do wear it as a dress just make sure your legs are looking tip top with a bit of pampering/body scrub/light fake tan etc and let your curves look heavenly.
Be careful about shoes with it - choose wisely and you will look like a goddess

bratnav · 16/05/2008 19:27

Thanks ladies, sorry I started this then had to do the tea/bath/bed routine.

Thanks so much, have decided I will keep it, any thoughts on shoes if I wear it as a dress rather than a top?

My mum is 50 and would wear that if it was a different colour!

Go for heels - make your legs look longer/give definition to calves

Anna8888 · 17/05/2008 11:15

You are far too young for that dress .
