Can someone recommend a lip stain/tint that actually stays on?

I love the idea of lip stains. That feeling of not having anything heavy on your lips, but they still look pretty. But I've recently tried both the Wonderskin lip stain, and the Victoria Beckham one, and they were both totally useless - came off within an hour (and I didn't even eat anything, just drank some water).

Any that genuinely work?!

Oh that's a shame as was convinced by the Wonder stain one!

The only lip product I've found that stays on longer than an hour is Max Factor Lipfinity, or Maybelline Superstay (basically the same thing) but they both feel heavy IMO

I use Wonderstain without it coming off! In fact it's often still visible the next morning.

Korean ones are the best - I’ve not found any others that actually stay on like they claim. My favourite are Etude House Fixing Tint - a great range of shades and they don’t budge. Missha also do some good ones. You can get Korean makeup quite cheaply on EBay, or places like Rose Rose Shop (Korean) don’t charge that much for shipping.

Interesting! What colour do you have? I got whimsical and it didn't last after I drank some warm water. I've only tried it once tbf, so maybe I need to change my technique? I did keep it on for a good two minutes.

Oooh this is a good tip - thank you, will look into this.

Whimsical! I usually do two applications, 2 minutes each

Does this look legit?

Delivering a pop of high-intensity, no-smudge colour, ETUDE HOUSE’s viral Fixing Tint is a buttery but lightweight lip tint that stays put all day, even under a mask - hence their alternative name, the Mask-Proof Fixing Tint! Spreading easily onto lips...

I was once told by a makeup artist that I have Teflon coated lips! Even using every trick in the book she couldn't get anything to remain on my lips... And then we tried Dior Addict Lip Tint. It's not cheap but I can get 6 hours (including eating and drinking) before needing to re-apply (daughter gets 12 hours!).

With wonderskin you also need to exfoliate you're lips before applying. It really does make a difference.

Ah thanks! Exfoliate like with a toothbrush or something?

I use a Give Me Cosmetics Lip Scrub but you could just use sugar and olive oil to be honest. Rub it on your lips, wipe off the excess and pat dry.

BridgetRandomfuck · 16/04/2025 16:18

I've not ordered from them before, but the price seems about right and the site looks fine, as do their Trust Pilot reviews. I've ordered from Pure Seoul and not had problems but they don't have many shades in right now.

BridgetRandomfuck · 16/04/2025 16:21

FYI they come out quite matte, but I put a little lip balm over the top and then they're fine.

StupidBoy · 16/04/2025 16:24

Its years since I've used it but I found the Max Factor Lipfinity one good as well. Also a little bottle that looked like nail narnish with a similar type brush, I think it was Benefits? Lip and Cheek stain. That was pretty good.

piscofrisco · 16/04/2025 17:23

I also like wonderstain. Did you get the fixing spray? Or just the stain? Mine stays for the whole night with the spray.

IsThePopeCatholic · 16/04/2025 17:28

I find that only reds stay on - whatever the product.

Loki64 · 16/04/2025 17:38

Are you leaving wonderland on long enough? I also have whimsical and it lasts around 8 hours minimum, thats with drinking coffee, eating etc

Ah I didn't realise there was a fixing spray! I guess you have to buy it separatyely?

I can't even find a Wonderskin spray on Amazon?

I find Kiko Long Lasting colour Lip Markers are good. I stock up in Spain as they're a bit cheaper.

myladyjane · 16/04/2025 18:36

I have 2 wonderskin tints. Both stay on quite a long time but I find them uncomfortable. Very drying and my lips feel a bit itchy.

i have a maybelline 24 hour. I apply very lightly as I find it a bit heavy but even like that it lasts most of the day.
