Help me find a Tankini please

All the ones I’ve seen have high leg briefs but I’m after shorts. ideally the top half isn’t too low cut either. Would prefer in dark colours, I’m a 16 and quite self conscious as I’ve put on lots of weight the last few years.
would like to spend less than £40.
I did order from SHEIN but the quality is awful!
Thank you for your help!

I got one from Amazon, too. Really impressed with the quality. There's loads to choose from.

I've bought some sets from Amazon like ZiggyZowie's, they're good quality for the money. Mine have been printed top and plain shorts though, it's nice to see a variation!

TheBewleySisters · 16/04/2025 18:39

I got a few from SeaFancy.

Separates are definitely the way to go.

I like my tankini’s from Yours, nice fit. I pair with bikini bottoms and black shorts I bought separately from Amazon, these ones:

They’re cotton, not swim fabric, but do the trick just as well. I like to cover up more thigh than the typical swim shorts. They pair nicely with a tankini and find the longer length also means they don’t ride up like shorter shorts can

I am a 16 with a big bust and have tried loads but got some really nice ones from curvissa that fit well and the quality is great

Thank you all so much!
you have given me so many options and so many stores that I hadn’t considered!
Knew I could count on the style & beauty gurus 💐

Another vote for Lands End as I have four tankini tops, swim shorts & swim skirt & the material is great for swimming. I wash straight after a swim so rinse chlorine out, spin & hang up, good as new.

Edited

I buy cycling shorts in a similar style, but they are shiny nylon so they are more like swimwear material and they dry quickly. I used cotton shorts like those in the past and they soak up more water, so they get heavy and take longer to dry.

I'm looking for one too. Lots of good ideas here.

Acheyelbows · 17/04/2025 11:13

Don't use Seafancy. I should have read the reviews. I wasted money on two sets from them, never again.

Amazon is where I found a decent set, I read the reviews carefully this time.

La redoute have a few which are usually good quality brands

It’s a scam website, worth checking the reviews before ordering anything!

It's not a scam, as such. I bought a tankini set from there because I was fooled by the co.uk website address and didn't realise it was based in China until after I'd already ordered. It took weeks to arrive, but it did turn up in the end and it's a really well-fitting, nice-looking set that's made from decent, thick material. I really like it and it will be great for holidays. Having said all that, the reviews aren't good and it seems hit and miss as to whether you get your order or not, plus shipping from China is not a good thing to do. It's a shame because they have some genuinely good designs that I haven't really seen anywhere else.

I got one last summer from asda george. sold separately as shorts and the tankini top. in plain black. it's actually really nice and only cost around £11 or £12 in total.

I’m glad the quality of yours was good. I ordered 3 sets and all were terrible quality. Now these guys don’t do returns as I suspect they are not legally operating in the UK. I ended up getting 85% of the price I paid back and consider the rest to be a cost of the lesson in checking the unknown websites.

Would really not recommend though and it was a terrible experience.
