I'm an older first-time mum looking for a forgiving dress for my baby's christening.

I'm a size 18-20 i think with massive boobs and still quite a bit of a tummy.

I bought this dress and loved it but husband pointed out it was very unforgiving on my tummy

I'm looking for something colourful, ideally including bright pink, midi/maxi length but with NO tiered skirts. I'm 5'4" and they make me look shorter and wider.

I'd like my arms covered. I've checked out seraphine but their dresses are either a bit too mumsy and/or boring colours.

Please help!

Pink & Orange Spot Print V-Neck Midi Dress | Oliver Bonas

OP I love the dress you have already bought! I'd go with that - who cares about the mum-tum! If you love it, go for it. You've had a baby! You're allowed to have a bit of a tummy.

for what it's worth, I bought and wore this for my baby's christening. Great for BFing and wrap around so comfy... but I still like your dress better!

This dress is gorgeous! Can you post a picture of yourself with it on (don’t have to show your face), and we can give you an honest opinion of how it suits your body?

You could look at wrap dresses on Popsy - lots of lovely colourful dresses (and with pockets).

Came to say the same! The cotton or viscose ones especially (avoid the jersey - its just pure polyester). The wrap style are really easy for breastfeeding. You can filter by style and material on the website. I usually size down in cotton because they are very generous.

But also to add that I think the one you have is great! So you should keep it if you love it.

who cares if it’s forgiving when you have a little baby?! Your DH is out of order. The colour is lovely.

Have a look at popsyclothing online. Their wrap front dresses are breastfeeding friendly.

I wore one from JoJo Maman Bebe for mine in a nice bright purple. Just skimmed their website and they still have a decent range.

The Oliver Bonas dress is lovely! Wear it anyway, it's fab colours. Maybe get some big sucky in knickers. Or maybe tell your DH to bog the bog bog off and keep his comments to himself until he's had a baby, breastfed it (and all that entails) and slid back into tiny clothes.

Aaaaah thanks all! Husband wasn'tbeing mean, he has a good eye for clothing and I asked him his honest opinion- he didn't volunteer it. He put it very sweetly "of course all of you is perfect...".

I'll try it on this evening and post a picture. I've been trying to lose weight without much success and can't be arsed to have that pressure.

Loving the suggestions so far, particularly the boden dress.
