Help is needed, as I am running out of time to find the perfect dress.

I am looking for a dress for my sons wedding, the wedding is in a nice all day venue so I do not have to worry about being modest for a religious setting.

I am 5ft 4 size 12 with big boobs huge boobs, I have blonde hair and I am pale. I am 47 so do not want a run of the mill MOG outfit I have searched and searched and can not find anything please help.

Budget?
General ball park preferences?

BetsyRegards · 14/04/2025 23:27

And where have you already looked?

StRaf · 15/04/2025 00:53

What time of the year will it be and what colours are the bridesmaids wearing?

Monty27 · 15/04/2025 01:00

@TheSpoonyNavyReader please say before you're thread is filled with eye watering beauties you can't afford. Or maybe you can. If so carry on. 😊

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 15/04/2025 07:35

I can spend up to 1K.

The wedding is at the end of May

Bridemaids are wearing sage/Dusty Green.

I have looked at the Fold, most do not suit my shape.

my sister was mother of groom last September got a fabulous dress from here (she was 50)

Bigearringsbigsmile · 15/04/2025 08:06

What sort of colours and shapes do you like?

BetsyRegards · 15/04/2025 08:13

I’ll assume you’ve searched more than just one shop, @TheSpoonyNavyReader!

But The Fold clothes are very neat in their proportions, whereas it sounds as if you need something different. Have you looked at

Marina Rinaldi

Their clothes are cut to a larger scale so you may find them more accommodating. There’s a black and white spotty dress for about £850 that looks lovely, but I don’t know if you’d want black for a wedding.

TimeForATerf · 15/04/2025 08:15

You definitely need to say what you like. I’m a floaty, boho type of person and bought a beautiful dress, very me, off the peg from Hobbs for one of DCs weddings, the other I saw on a hire site and tracked the brand down and bought it. It wasn’t too hard for me, just kept dropping stuff I liked I to Pinterest until I saw “the one”.

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 15/04/2025 08:19

I have searched all over, The Fold is the style I like.

I have to wear a 12 in a dress because of my 34 E boobs.

I have long legs for a short person.

I can’t do floaty dresses as the can look like a sack on me.

I need something and Style and Beauty people maybe able to find something for me, hence why I asked on here.

I adore this dress from SALONI but I worry about the shelf effect with this neck line.

That’s lovely. I think the keyhole and folds will stop it being as shelf like as if the neckline were plain.

LizziesTwin · 15/04/2025 08:57

What about the Lea style?

NoCureForLove · 15/04/2025 11:30

Max Mara?

FannyAndAlexander · 15/04/2025 11:47

Hobbs?

StRaf · 15/04/2025 12:02

I would book a few appointments with stylists at Selfridges, John Lewis etc with that budget.

You need a V neck to balance the bust.

This company do made to measure on this dress - they send out a sample and you say where you want the bust, hem, sleeves only £395 - not sure what range of prints/colours they do.
