Jeans for a petite 43 year old

Argh I really need some help with jeans...

I'm 43 y/o. 5"2, size 8. All my jeans are a few years old, I need new ones but I don't know what sort of style would be trendy and still work for me.

I'm seeing a lot more wide leg jeans in stores, but being only 5"2 I'm worried they just look too baggy. Plus I'm so short that by the time I take them up I feel like I will have chopped half the legs off

Any ideas please?

I tried some in New Look, after someone recommended them to me, and really liked a few of their styles. It was a bit of a revelation to me as New Look was the go-to in my teens and I hadn't been there for years!

Unfortunately the wide ones in store (labelled Short) were still too long on me! But they do have a petite range online. I found a pair of ankle grazers which fitted perfectly.

I have the legs of someone who is 5”2 and found Extra Short in Abercrombie and Fitch. Levi’s Boyfriend come in a 27 inch leg. Or I look for jeans labelled as cropped and then they are full length on me.
