I'm approaching mid-forties and am the oldest member of the team at work (out of 25). The majority of my team are late 20's to early 30's.
I'm becoming more and more conscious of my looks, especially while on video calls. I lost a lot of weight a few years ago which combined with perimenopause has left me with prominent jowls and deep bands of skin running down the length of my neck from my chin.
My jowls and neck look awful on camera and I'm so self conscious. I use the soft blur filter on Teams, and try and move about during the day to make the best of the lighting. But when I'm on other platforms such as Google Meet, I don't have the filter options and I just look awful.
At the moment I get Botox which helps with my forehead and around my eyes, but that doesn't help with my loose skin. I would like a face and neck lift, but I'm not sure if I should wait a few more years until gravity and peri-menopause really set in.
My neck is so bad that I'm actually pulling it taught with medical tape behind my neck to reduce the appearance of the bands and shadows on my neck and under my chin and it does help. But is there anything else I can do for my jowls?
Does anyone have any tips on how to look my best on camera? Would a ring light help? Is there a specific one I should purchase? A specific setting I should use? Anything I can do with my makeup / shading?
I've attached some similar examples of what my jowls and neck are like and what I'd like them to look like (these are after a face / neck lift).
