Themed Party Dress Help!

I am going to a party on the May bank holiday that will be mostly outdoors - there will be a marquee there but the idea is (weather permitting) to spend most of the afternoon in the gardens.

The theme is '60's Glitz and Glamour' - I would ideally like to wear a dress but I have no idea what I am looking for! If anyone has any ideas they could send me, I would hugely appreciate it!

1960s the time of the mini skirt! Perhaps you could look at some Mary Quant dress designs to get an idea of shapes and fabric patters? She did some interesting op-art styles in black and white which might be a starting point for you.

The 1960s were a time when fashion was moving away from glitz and glamour and embracing more casual, less structured clothing, so it seems to me an odd choice of theme!
