Help! How do I even wear a bra with this dress?!

My DP has bought me this dress, it's lovely, I love it, but I have no idea what to do about a bra? I've tried it on without but you can definitely see I haven't got a bra on.

I usually wear soft wireless sports style bras or the Uniqlo vest tops with bra built in as a base layer.

Any help much appreciated!

Size 6-8 with almost no boobs if that helps.

It's the open back that is the issue

I think the answer is that you don’t!

MummaMummaJumma · 31/03/2025 22:31

Have you tried the sticky bras?

Coali · 31/03/2025 22:35

It looks like a beach dress, so I think you could get away with a string type bikini for holidays. I know what you mean about having a smaller chest, I often go braless or wear a crop type top, but if you don’t fill it out then you can see everything! Maybe you could sew a lining in? If not, just wear a crop top in a bright colour like hot pink and style it as part of the dress.

Would they not look weird though if I don't wear a bra and you can see my nipples?

Never tried stick on bras to be honest, I'll look into it!

I agree it looks like a beach dress try the bikini tip

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 31/03/2025 22:38

Just get one of the stick on things, you’ll be grand

overmydeadbody · 31/03/2025 22:39

Thank you coali, yeah it's definitely a beach dress and I live on the beach so a bikini top might be the answer.

Thanks everyone😊

Nipple pasties???

RiversofOtter5 · 31/03/2025 22:44

You can get multiway bras that tie low on the waist, and other things that are more comfortable and ecofriendly than boob tape. Take the dress into a proper lingerie department, or an evening wear or erotic wear shop, and ask about options.

I'll have a look, thank you everyone

A plunge bra would work wouldn't it? You could get away with the clasp and found this: https://www.marksandspencer.com/flexifit-wired-push-up-bra-a-e-/p/clp60638620?intid=mobileappppdpshare

Jk987 · 31/03/2025 22:47
  • the clasp showing a bit.
RiversofOtter5 · 31/03/2025 22:51

Pour Moi or Wonderbra are worth a look.
Plunge bra to wear with low back dress or multiway bra would be search terms. A SKIMS-style lightweight bodysuit can be a good option. I wouldn't trust M&S for this, at least not if you want an investment bra, but they have alternative-style bras that will do for a summer or two. (If 90s fashion is coming back then nipples will become a new normal.)

Tbrh · 31/03/2025 23:24

I'd wear a bandaue under it, that's what I do with a low cut dress of mine (but my boobs are huge)

StarlightLady · 01/04/2025 16:50

I think any attempt at wearing a bra or a bikini top with a dress like this is likely to fail; sorry! Some dresses are made not to wear a bra with, and this is one of them. The problem will always be the back.

Springtime43 · 09/05/2025 17:36

I once saw someone wear a halter neck string bikini top (as mentioned earlier) with a similar dress, and the ties dangled down at the back, it worked quite well
