I need smarter trousers with an elasticated waist.

I live in Jersey trousers like yoga pants. I want a slightly smarter pair to wear with dressier tops.

I normally wear a size 16 and hate jeans.

I'm also leggy so anything under a 32" would be too short. I'd also like something that's not grey or black.

Try M&S or COS.

Was pleasantly surprised by halara recently. Jogger level comfort but look smarter

Hollister Livvy trousers are very flattering.

H& M

Uniqlo. Their wide leg trousers have a flat front with elastic inside so you can adjust them. They’re brilliant.

I follow this creator on YouTube and she (5-10, size 18) posts gorgeous really comfy outfits. The trousers she has here might be good - link in her comments

Don’t know if that link worked. Her name is Mollie Campsie, look at her shorts - she does lots of outfits like this

Look at Ninepines.

I've been quite pleased with the Saint and Sofia 'Runway pants' for this sort of thing - soft and pull on, but look smarter. They are still fairly unstructured, though, so I'm also browsing this thread for something a little more structured for a couple of outfits, as with loose jersey tops, I think I look a little baggy overall with these! But for comfort, whilst looking a bit smarter, they have been good.

They come in three leg lengths as well.

Toast 'Alix' - flat front, elasticated back, nice shape (I wore them at size 16 and they were great)

emsyj37 · 01/04/2025 15:54

These M&S trousers are elasticated waist and a smart fabric. They come in longer lengths. If they are out of stock in your chosen size and colour, set up the notification as they are regularly restocked (they have been a stock style for several years). https://www.marksandspencer.com/wide-leg-trousers/p/clp60506507?color=BLACK#intid=pid_pg1pip41g4r2c4 www.marksandspencer.com/wide-leg-trousers/p/clp60506507?color=BLACK#intid=pid_pg1pip41g4r2c4]]]]

Lucy and Yak Alexa trousers. Perfect and lots of colours or prints, from very exciting to black or plain dark greens, reds, browns… and also available on Vinted.
