Best gradual tan for pale skin

Going on holiday in a couple of weeks and I want to use a gradual tan before I go to remove the blue hue from my legs. I don't tan, I just tend to freckle and burn, so I need the SPF50.

Dove lotion and palmers natural bronze get mixed reviews, so needing something which is reliable!

I'm the same colouring and use Garnier Summer Body - I have to use the dark version to get any kind of colour but it's been a reliable.

I think the dove one is fab...

Does it not go orange?

I didn’t get in with the Dove one even though lots recommend it. I use a Bondi Sands one, it’s subtle and doesn’t streak or go patchy.

Another vote for Garnier. Doesn't go orange and doesn't smell as bad as the others.

Another vote for the Bondi Sands one. I found the Garnier one went orange.

Definitely Bondi Sands, the one in the gold bottle, beautiful colour, no streaks. You need to put it in daily though. It is excellent.

Bondi sands or skinny tan.

Am trialing Gatineau this summer op. Just ordered some!

thaigirl · 31/03/2025 21:15

Gatineau or Declor Both are lovely and won’t stain your sheets or turn you in to a streaky orange mess. The high street ones look like fake tan in my experience.

Thanks for all the recommendations! Will be busy looking at these tomorrow
