Foundation help? No idea what to choose

I think i need some foundation. For work/leaving the house i usually wear eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick.
I have quite good skin but would like to use a foundation. I've used dior/ chanel/ estee lauder ( to thick) and No 7.
I have some time off in a couple of weeks so could go to boots or space nk.
What should I be looking for? Dewy or Matt
Any help would be very gratefully received!

I like the no7 hydraluminous one. It’s quite light and doesn’t feel thick or heavy.

It’s not completely matte but it’s not dewy either. They do a very good colour match service at the counter.

L’Oreal True Match. Either the foundation or the skin tint (called true match nude plumping tinted serum).

Amazing shade range for cool/warm undertones. My favourite out of anything I’ve tried whether high end or drugstore.

What about a skin tint instead? The Lisa Eldridge ones are good and less than £40. I get mine from Space NK.

Try MAC face &body foundation. Especially if you have decent skin, not much coverage, lovely and natural looking skin. I’ve been using it for years now. Add concealer if needed. Good luck 😃

Oh and whatever you choose, pick up a brush. A flat top kabuki brush has made such a difference to how my foundation looks!

I posted a reply about it the other day. I got hooked by the social media ads. Not for me I’m v pale and the Porcelain shade went orange on me. I like skin to look like skin even with foundation/skin tint and the Laura Geller took me back to 1986 when we’d plaster ourselves with Boots Translucent powder.

I also have clear skin and like a light but “maintained” coverage that I add other products onto. I love the L’Oréal True match (as someone else advised), Emporio Armani and NARS Sheer Glow if you can get the right shades are also great! NARS I found the colour match faltered or I loved it. All three I get incredible
compliments for - my skin is basically clear (maybe a bit dull on a bad day!) and I love them. Also NYX dewy setting spray may help. And the Emporio Armani concealer for a bright but dewy under eye that’s forgiving and doesn’t cause wrinkles that aren’t a there OR I love the mabelliene little wand with the sponge on top for lighter coverage? I wear L’Oréal foundation with Emporio concealer at the moment and love it but will pull my finger out and get my winter (very pale!) shade colour matched and go full Emporio soon - I’d highly suggest that combo. (Sorry a bit of an inner monologue ramble!!)

For me, Laura Geller works really well

I have combi skin, with high pigmentation - red chin, nose, above the brows and cheeks

But I hate the feel of anything on my skin

Balance and brighten is fantastic if you have flawless skin - I don't - so I use Laura Geller Double take. Now that's like EL double wear - it covers if you use a dry sponge or damp sponge. It's also pretty "flat". So I use it with a brush - stippling it over my problem areas and then go over with the balance and brighten - more 3 dimensional.

This method works for me - 60 - getting lines, uneven texture and high pigmentation. I also don't go for a mask like face, I want to just blur it all a bit, make it more even

Its so light on me , it never gets that clammy splitting, cracking stage that when I do wear it, I often sleep in it - forgetting Im wearing it

They do a money back gaurentee for any reason within so many days so it may be worth the punt

I usually get " you are looking really well" type of comments when I apply it

I tried the Laura Geller definitely not for me and nothing like the textures or coverage of the foundations you previously used OP
