I think I’m wearing this dress to a funeral next week but don’t often wear dresses. Would black heeled ankle boots work? I have some pointy ones with a thin heel but maybe a block heel would work better? Or shoes?

OtherwIse I have some flat knee length boots. But not sure if they’re appropriate.

Sorry for your loss.

The dress is lovely. I think the black heeled ankle boots would work well with the vibe of the high neck and belt.

Thank you on both counts.

Great, at least I don’t need to buy some new boots. It’s been a long time since I wore a dress in a smart situation I couldn’t figure out the footwear!

Your whole outfit is lovely and agree about the ankle boots.

How are you on heels standing for a while? I went to a funeral in Liverpool last year and at the wake all the women changed into their slippers! At least they were comfy after all that standing up.

Thanks @BobLobla

Good point - I was wondering about how long I’d be standing in the heels. I guess the funeral part would be seated but then we go to the crematorium part and we will be stood up. I may pop in some ballet flats for that part. I’ll go and reread the details to see if I can figure it out!

Then I think the wake is in a pub. So maybe seats. But be good to have a flat pair of shoes as back up!
