Fake tan with a newborn

To some may seem a silly question, however what fake tan do people use and do they find any issues with their newborn?

My baby is 6 weeks old and pre baby I would wear fake tan all year round (only ever self tan mousse!) and on the lead up to the birth and so far post partum I have not worn any kind of fake tan for various reasons (either that practicallity with not being tanned for water birth / lack of time / previously breastfeeding and not wanting to take the babies face, although now baby exclusively bottle fed).

I do not feel myself at all and would like to start to feel a bit more put together so would like to start tanning again, however I am concerned about the smell of the fake tan and that my baby would not recognise me because of the smell.

I was therefore looking for any tan recommendations which do not have such a strong smell or any advice from any other fake tan lovers as to how their babies reacted?

Your baby is going to recognise you, that’s a ridiculous line that people spout.

You could use a quick developing one and shower it off before bed, avoiding application on your boobs if BFing. Or a gradual moisturiser one for a little glow?

I think it depends what your baby is like. My baby wanted to be on me, skin to skin, for a LONG time so it just wasn’t practical for me to have tan on because it would have transferred straight onto her little face.

I wouldn’t worry about the smell but more about it ending up on baby

I can’t stand the smell on myself so refused to continue (tried a few different ones). I wouldn’t force that on a baby who has no ability to refuse to be on you!
