Help - short, fat and in need of wedding guest outfit

Hi.
Please throw me some ideas for outfits - 5ft4, size 22, busty and big tummy.
Looking for a tidy outfit, I'm not a glittery, flouncy dressed but obviously I want to dress up for the wedding of a family member.

In my head I'm thinking a soft 3 piece trouser suit that can be worn again as separates but can't find any I like.
Thanks in advance

I was going to suggest something similar. I am short and tubby and it’s the sort of thing I always wear.

a non-clingy jumpsuit. Long legs and whatever sleeve length you're comfortable with.

I honestly don't think trouser suits are good on short and fat. It makes us look shorter, fatter and usually more butch. Trouser suits look gorgeous on willowy women.

Could you put your height, measurements and an outfit description into Grok and ask AI to create a photo of you in different items?

Scarlett &Jo are a lovely range of plus size dresses. Adrianna Papell is also worth a look. Simply Be and JD Williams. Marina Rinaldi, it is worth looking on Vinted and eBay for Marina Rinaldi and Adrianna Papell.

I find shift dresses work well on this shape. Straight up and down with a little cinch in at the waist to give some shape. Simple and elegant. Nice nude courts and matching bag to dress.

How about a kimono over soft, plain trousers? Have a look at One Hundred Stars.

Shibumi do lovely dressy jackets in many colours, patterned and plain - pricy but you could team with cheaper separates. Or try Vinted/EBay etc

I agree a shift dress is more flattering than a floaty 3 piece trousers suit. If you want something non flouncy, how about this dress / jacket combi? It would look good with statement necklace IMO. I find Gina Bacconi good for quality smart plus size dresses that don't drown shorter women.

I second Gina Bacconi (she's saved my bacon several times - if I liked bacon less I might not need her to save it) and also Chesca - I have several of their floaty jackets which look great over dresses and they also do the 3 pieces you mention.

Wallis has hundreds of shift dresses in including chiffon sleeves so you don’t get too hot. I’ve found the quality to be better than I thought for the price whenever I’ve bought a dress there.

Thanks for all the ideas 🙂
I like shift dresses but think I've short legs I think I always look shorter with the cut off, but maybe I need to revisit that idea.
I struggle with heels because of an ankle injury which makes my foot swell if walking to a bit so maybe that's also sometimes conscious of.
