I'm looking for a home laser or IPL device and it seems the Philips and the Braun ones are the main ones. Do you recommend either of these?

I’d recommend the Lumea. But no experience of the Braun for comparison. Only negstive from the Lumea is that attachments don’t seem replaceable which is a bit of a con!! I like that I can use it plugged in or after charging

I have a lumea it's good. Never used the Braun, sorry!

My lumea is going strong after years

Mine is too except the clear plastic bit has fallen out (and disappeared!) from the main attachment head. I’m using a smaller attachment head but very annoying

Thank you that's a few points for the lumea!

I have a Braun , it was 150 in an amazon deal and its fab, I no longer shave underarms or my legs, and its even sorted the dark chin hairs

strangecarinroad · 25/03/2025 20:02

Lumea is excellent, I now have smooth legs. I was rather surprised.it worked so well.

Cheesesteakyum · 25/03/2025 20:04

I havent tried the others but I have the Lumea and it work good for me (fair - med skin / dark hair).

WellyBellyBoo · 25/03/2025 20:38

Braun has been excellent for me. I have small hands and liked the shape better than the Lumea

Sinkintotheswamp · 25/03/2025 20:42

I've had a Lumea for 4yrs. It did take about a year to work as my hair was quite strong (I'd waxed for 30yrs). It's very very weird always having smooth legs and wearing shorts or an ankle length trouser when I want.
I'd recommend getting the corded one though. I've got the fancy one and it's so feeble when I've tested it cordless. I always just plug it in now.

I’ve just bought the Braun (too soon to give feedback as it arrived yesterday). I chose it because of the shape. Reviews for lumea and Braun were really similar so both do the job but I preferred the less chunky style when I was imagining getting to tricky angles.
