Help me with ideas for non restrictive waistband

I have recently had a hysterectomy and currently (6 weeks post op) i cannot bare to wear my 'normal' jeans because they just feel very restrictive around scars etc. I am probably slightly bigger than I was although the clothes fit I just can't stand the sensation of anything 'tight' around my waist. The thing is I live in jeans or sports leggings (which I can still wear).

I am going on holiday soon and need some outfits...

I have one pair of Halara jeans (with a gentle waistband) and I am living in those, unbuttoned jeans (except when walking!) and lulu lemon leggings.

Has anyone got any suggestions? I have a couple of summer dresses that will work on holiday but not really suitable for UK/work/general life.

Brand I normally wear would be Hush, Nobodby's Child, Mint Velvet but I need inspiration for other places which offer 'more relaxed' shapes.

I am a size 10 and a good shape so that's not a problem, I just can't be doing with jeans for now.

I'm in my elasticated waist era right now - thanks, perimenopause! These might not be to your taste (and please don't let this thread fill up with people saying how horrible they are because I own and like them all) but they will give you an idea of some things that are out there.

My DP has said these are pyjamas but I think they will be cute with a t-shirt and trainers in warmer weather. I may just wear them round the house/garden, but they're viral on TikTok and people are definitely wearing them out and about.

I guess with drawstring I can just tie them loosely, where as jeans just feel so restrictive!

I am not sure I am tall enough for barrel legs, but @Judystilldreamsofhorses i love those wide leg fluid ones!

@longshot the H&M ones are definitely not for everyone, but if I don’t wear them out they will be perfect for working from home. I had a member discount on the app plus a “reward” so they were practically free.

@Dearg i’m 5ft 6 so not that tall - give them a go!

Would skirts with a jersey waistband help?

H&M also have the fold over waistband ones in their leisure section. V casual, I wear for yoga.
