Online shopping - Where should I be looking?

I’m hoping you lovely S&B people can help me out. I’ve recently turned 40 and lost my way. I’m struggling to know where to shop or how to dress. I can pick out individual pieces but struggle to put things together. I’m size 18, 5’ 11. I have a few pairs of wide leg jeans, and have recently bought a satin maxi in animal print, but how do I dress them up for an evening? I love a dress, but all the dresses online seems to be geared for summer and warm weather. I am no good with heels and tend to live in trainers.

I’m going out for a meal and cocktails in a few weeks and would love to feel good in what I wear. Any suggestions on where to start looking? I usually buy from places like Scamp & Dude, Nobody’s Child, Oliver Bonas, Next, and sometimes ASOS. I think I just need to widen the places I’m looking perhaps.

I'm the same age as you. I look for inspiration on Pinterest and look at mannequins as I'm walking around. I follow instagram accounts such as M&S, Primark, Next and F&F. They help massively with how and what to put together. Wear what you like and what you feel confident in.

I did a John Lewis personal shopper appt and she found outfits for me I wouldn’t have chosen. It’s kick started me again.

I did the same and it really helped me. I have never felt like I didn’t have anything to wear since and will be doing it again this Summer.
