What would look nice underneath this pinafore for my DD

I really like this dress for my DD and would like it to be an outfit option for her for a special occasion next weekend. But I'm a bit stumped with what would look nice underneath it and what colour.

It's a creamy colour rather than white. Do you think a long sleeved cream coloured top with a collar could look nice?

Or maybe a red short sleeved top to contrast the red on the dress?

Depending on weather, either short sleeved or long sleeved red top would be nice.

Boden used to do a lot of wee pointelle tops with Peter Pan collars and when DD was little I used to pair them with pinafores. That we before she grew opinions and would only wear Nike pros and white fox hoodies

A cream or red top with a Peter Pan collar would look adorable with it, and fit the vintage style. One of the blue shades in the dress would work too but would probably be harder to match.
