New Balance 327s - Is it just me?

I’ve just taken delivery of some NB 327s (off-white with navy detail).

Even the bigger size doesn’t fit, so this is kind of academic, but they did not look or feel like a £100+ pair of shoes. Bits of the upper are suede but most is pleather and not very good looking stuff either. I was expecting leather for that money (I know, I got distracted by the pretty shoes and didn’t read the details). Nasty nylon trim round the edges too.

I couldn’t see them lasting me a few weeks, let alone the whole summer.

If you’ve got them, how have they worn?

Or can you recommend some leather trainers that will look nice with dresses and summer trousers?

I’ve got a pair of these and absolutely love them. They are unbelievably comfortable and I regularly put them in the washing machine so find them very easy to clean. I bought mine from an actual physical shop though so saw them beforehand and could make sure I got the right size. I’ve had mine for over a year now and they are wearing well. I wasn’t that keen on them on the shelf but once I tried a pair on I was sold as they are literally the most comfortable shoes I own. I think they look great with dresses and jeans/trousers.

I'm on my second pair, these ones I have worn most days for 18 months, I absolutely adore them, they are the most comfortable trainers and still in great condition!

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 17/03/2025 13:24

Three pairs of them here. I love the look of them, and they are so comfortable.

Sinkintotheswamp · 17/03/2025 13:24

I have some for work and hate them. They're quite cheap and cheerful. A rare change from Nike and proper running trainers for me and I won't make that mistake again.

Nottodaty · 17/03/2025 13:30

I have Nikes and converses & wide feet…..I struggle with any trainers as always to narrow & squished toes! Sent many many back.

But NB 327 actually are ok! I’m a size 5.5 so went with a 6 - so far they lasted ok. And I don’t cry with the thought of wedging my fat feet into them!

JustJazzy · 17/03/2025 14:14

I find the fit of 327s awful and they aren't that comfortable. I ended up selling mine after a few wears.

MarigoldCherry · 17/03/2025 14:38

I find 327s and New Balance in general so comfortable and they do last well but I agree they are expensive and I never pay full price. I usually pay around £60-£70 which I’m happy with.

Thanks everyone - an interesting mixture of experiences.

I do love the way they look on. I have wide feet too so I like leather as I know it will give with wear. For £50 I’d give it a go but…

Leather Lace Up Side Detail Trainers | M&S Collection | M&S

Similar but much cheaper

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 17/03/2025 18:10

I don’t like mine and feel like I should have gone half s size up. I love my 574s though and have them in three different colourways.

Newmeagain · 17/03/2025 18:15

How is their sizing?

I have the M&S version and really like them.

Weedkillerworks · 18/03/2025 09:43

Great minds @Emanwenym - I’ve just found those too! New Look are doing some without the leather even cheaper.

I thought they came up small. I’m a 41/42 and the ones marked 42.5 were too short on me. Width was ok though.
