Smart blouse brands that are not chain stores

jewelwinter41 · 17/03/2025 08:11

Want to buy some smart blouses that are different from all the usual tops that appear on the high street.

I love silk and natural materials especially.

Budget up to £250 but am flexible on that.

Does anyone have any recommendations for brands please? Will buy from European shops too.

I’m liking Hobbs for blouses at the moment

Pure Collection for classic silk shirts. Rise & Fall for slightly more modern cuts; they have some lovely silk organza pieces in at the moment.

I like Anne Fontaine.

Liberty of London for cotton and silk blouses.
Caliban is an Italian brand that does excellent shirts in interesting patterns. You can find it on Yoox.

House of Foxy makes great vintage style blouses. Several different styles.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Any other European brands would be appreciated. I don't want to buy from any of of the popular /common brands.

I recently bought the Sezane Chlo blouse - as a short arse booby 14 (verging on a 16) I thought I’d look ridiculous and not even get one arm in it, but my god, I absolutely loved it. First time in a long time I put something on and thought “I love how this looks” rather then “it’s look ok or it looks nice” and for me, it was worth every single penny of the £95 and £8 postage. And I would absolutely pay it again for another one in a different colour. Yes even chuffing £8 postage. I hope it had its own seat on a flight from Paris at that cost. But it’s been a long time since I genuinely LOVED something I bought.

Why?
I don't mean that in a combative way or anything. Do you want something as unique as possible for whatever reason?
Maybe it would be worth looking into getting one made (only if you know of a good enough seamstress, obviously).

ToBeOrNotToBee · 18/03/2025 10:37

Seamstress of Bloomsberry have some lovely blouses too.

I know you say not high street BUT I bought this one for work and the cotton is a really lovely quality, very silky yet 100% cotton.

My friend admired it and felt my sleeve and then said 'well that's clearly not High Street' - she was amazed when I said M&S.

I am wearing this shirt today and it really is very nice!

I think Sezanne will probably be too popular for you. Have you thought of getting something made, depending where you go, it might meet your budget?
