Dermaplaning - Do you use any product to aid shaving?

Hi!

I have bought a IPL device to use at home and I would like to use it on my face, mostly chin and upper lip, probably on the cheeks too.

Given that I have to shave the hairs off before using, do you use anything besides the razor? Do you use any soap or foam like men do? Do you do it on wet or dry skin?

I have to say I am quite clumsy and I am afraid to nick my skin. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

No just dry shave

I do as I’ve found it drying / irritating for the skin. I just use a tiny bit of oil ( the ones that are for face/body/hair) let it dry and then it seems to work as a barrier against irritation. Most of it gets scraped off though.

I cleanse thoroughly, pat dry then dermaplane with a blade and Aloe Vera gel.
