How to stretch/lengthen trainers without ruining them?

Not sure if this is a silly question - but...is there anyway I can make my new trainers (past the point of return) just slightly bigger?

They are very comfortable generally but my toes are touching the ends just a little too much! And annoyingly I can't return!

Can you still get shoe stretchers ?

I walk round the house in them with really thick socks on, seems to help.

Is it a rubber sole? If so, no, of course you can't increase the length of a pair of trainers. However, you can try your best to soften/loosen the upper which should give you a little more room. This should make the trainer feel more comfortable.

Best thing to do is using the steam from a boiling kettle, position the nozzle inside the shoe. Remove, then using your hands or a broom handle, manipulate the areas you want to loosen.

It's also worth remembering that by the end of the day, our feet are bigger, so first thing, the trainers might not be too uncomfortable and a good time of day to wear them in/wear with thick socks as suggested by PPs.
