Hello
Last November I showed my hairdresser how thin my hair had gone. It was especially bad at the corners of my forehead (I don’t know the technical term), my parting was getting wider and my whole head had lost volume.
I’m probably on the edge of perimenopause- no cycle changes but I am mid forties.
Anyway, she suggested folic acid. She said she recommends it to everyone who worries about thinning hair and in her experience it really helps.
I was very dubious but gave it a try. I gave Dh a mighty scare because he saw the jar and jumped to conclusions.
I’ve been pretty good at remembering to take them nearly every day.
its been just over three months and my hair is regrowing! It’s especially noticeable in those corner bits- I can wear my hair up again. I straightened my hair yesterday and I could see the regrowth all the way through my hair. It’s like the regrown you get after the big postpartum shed.
I’m blinking chuffed! I can’t find much online about it but understand folic acid is a b vitamin and there’s quite a bit about vitamin b and hair loss.
Maybe this is common knowledge but if it’s not and your hair is making you sad then it’s worth a try. Folic acid costs pennies.
