Who does good T-shirts for big boobs? Longer than waist-level please

By 'good' I mean not cheapy thin material, and also to my hip bone rather than waist. I only get to shop for clothes at Tesco and Asda these days, so need advice to prevent long, fruitless shopping trip.

Do I need to take the Boden plunge? Would rather pay more and get T-shirts that wash well and look neat.

sainsbury's have some long-length ribbed ones (tight-fitting) with scoop neck and buttons .. nice colours are green and black IMHO

it is thin material but not see-through .. but then they're only £3 each

EffiePerine · 12/05/2008 12:56

Tescos have some nice fair-trade cotton ones: v-neck, long fitting, thick material, £4

Next do reasonable T shirts I think. And although expensive, I find Hobbs T shirts do wash and wear well.

Ah thanks for this, all suggestions appreciated!

I bought a nice scoop neck one in Tesco the other day - one of their fiver ones. It's quite shaped, with lycra, and a lot longer than I was expecting. Also has slightly puffed sleeves, which I didn't notice till I got it home. I bought white, but I think they also had teal and brown, and possibly other colours. Avoid their wrap effect v-necks - I had to take one back as the seam across the bust was in completely the wrong size, and pulling it down to the right place caused major cleavage-baring, in a very unacceptable way.

EffiePerine · 12/05/2008 13:01

I am wearing it with a vest top though

GregorSamsa · 12/05/2008 13:07

Ooh, can I recommend Harry Duley?

I'm tall (6ft) with big norks, and these tops are really fab. Lovely and long, and not as frumpy as some of the long tall Sally stuff.

They are v. v. friendly, you can email them with queries and they will send you swatches of fabric to check the colours. I have just bought a second batch of these T-shirts in two different colours, and she made me a nice tunic to order as well.

DON'T get boden, they're all too short in the body.

GregorSamsa · 12/05/2008 13:08

Plus you don't see 5 million other people wearing the same top as you, always a bonus.

Lucycat · 12/05/2008 13:08

ooh yes Tesco fair Trade tops are great! They had 20% off them last week (may well still have) I have several in a variety of colours. This is my favourite colour at the mo

Thanks everyone, I will go and have a look at Harry Duley now and pay more attention next time I am in Tesco!

Effie - sorry, it was in the wrong place (for some reason typed size before) for me - it's not an actual wrap, but just the top half, to a sort of empire seam jobby. Which went directly over my nipples, rather than under the norks, where I thought it ought to be. Probably fine on you though.
