A big thank you to those kind mumsnetters who recommended getting my colours done

It was absolutely months ago I posted about not knowing what to buy and some of you recommended Colour me Beautiful. I persuaded kind DH to get me the colour and make up package for my birthday and paid for the style analysis myself.

It was absolutely fab. I have been hiding in drab neutrals for years thinking that was what suited me, when in fact I should be wearing clear bright colours, and on the style analysis she was so complimentary, I have a ex baby tummy so tend to wear looser flowing tops, but as I am an hourglass and apparently a fairly decent one, I should be wearing more fitted clothes.

Its not cheap, plus I finally got round to charity bagging all that stuff I was never too sure about, but I'd recommend it to anyone if they are unsure about their image of what clothes to wear.

It's great, isn't it?
Are you a winter, you lucky thing?

They don't do seasons any more. I'm apparently a clear with a leaning towards clear & warm.

All these years, due to my mums old book I thought I was a spring and so have a wardrobe full of muted pastels which I now have to dump. Must admit though tis difficult finding clothes which match both the colour and style criteria, however have just invested in some fab brightly coloured shrug tops from Phase Eight, fantastic for my ample bosoms and high waist, with the extra bonus of 20% off courtesy of mumsnetter giving a discount code.

I'm a total convert.

I had mine done and initially thought it was a waste of money but have now realised it makes shopping a lot easier.
I know exactly what colours to stay away from, and more or less what suits me.Wish I'd had the style analysis done.

thnaks. i was thinking of having this doen as there is 20% off at teh moment. will defo do it now

time4tea · 12/05/2008 09:02

how do you find out a good person to do it? I'm afraid of spending a lot of cash only to find the person is a bit useless/could have done it myself from a book (my usual cure for everything)

rookiemater · 12/05/2008 09:03

Kristina, if you get Good Housekeeping (I know I know it was a christmas subscription) then its 25% off so might be worth the cost to get the extra discount.

I'm not on commission, honest.

Time4tea, I just randomly picked the person with the best website from my area. Maybe you could ask them how long they have been doing it for, I would imagine its one of those things where if you aren't particularly successful at it you would give up quite quickly.
