Where am I going wrong with this style shoe?

These are EVERYWHERE and I can see them being so handy for just pushing on for the school run, nipping to the shop, etc. But I tried 3 pairs on today and couldn't walk in them! I don't know what it was they just felt like they were slipping off so I was having to curl my toes to keep them on which isn't practical for walking!

Is it the price point? The pairs I tried on were all under £30, is it something you need to spend more on or is it my feet?! I've never had issues with flip flops, sandals or sliders before.

I like the added conversations with the producers

Does this mean my crocs are back en vogue?

Yes, very much so. For about the last year or more.

I’ve got a pair that I got in the Next sale, at Christmas, for about a tenner. They’re real suede with a furry lining and I wear them as slippers. It took me ages to break them in because they were very stiff but I do fancy a decent pair for the Summer. Not Birkenstocks, though, I can’t get on with them, I find them really uncomfortable.

I love mules, clogs, backless shoes. Hardly ever wear smart shoes, preferring boots for dressy occasions in winter.

In the style you have shown OP, I have grey felt La Redoute with very contoured footbed. Suits me, but not for everyone. I'd only wear these to work as a chiefly indoor shoe with trs. I also have pale blue, faux fur lined from White Stuff - wfh slippers, not for cooking or nipping to the bin in. Birkenstocks in this style are too wide for me. The 2 pairs mentioned above would not be entirely suitable for walking as they are less wide, but still wide.

If you want a clog shape that you can walk in, look at Haflinger. Comfort curve arch support, the shoe that those with plantar ficiatus are recommended. They do slippers and clogs and they are comfy and quite fun.

I consider all these to be footwear to wear with trousers unless you are indoors.

Oh, should add that if you want a simple two faux suede strap backless footbed style for summer then try Deichman.

I think if I were forced to wear slip on shoes, then these would be the only ones I would consider

I do have narrow feet! Is thst the issue then. Useful to know, thanks

Me too. Those shoes are built for another foot shape entirely.

Skechers Slip Ins or the like are much more comfortable and less likely to fall off.

I'm the same - shoes like this are so EFFORTFUL to wear.
I find standard Birkenstock sandals the same... My feet get tired and sore from the gripping. I got some Arizonas with a back strap and they are great! I'm searching for the equivalent in a mule but no joy yet.

I noticed these are everywhere too. Today I saw a couple in his and hers. Worn with socks, obviously.

I can’t wear backless shoes/sandals/flipflops as my foot feels like it’s clawing itself into the shoe, in order to keep it on. I do have one pair of mock crocs but just for swimming. I think these are ok as they are cut narrow, have straps to tighten and and I don’t walk far in them.

Ahh I bought two pairs of these online, one like yours and one animal print. Like you I thought they'd be handy for just shoving on to pop out & still look nice. But i found the exact same, I can't walk in them!! So annoying.
