Dd looking for some, but needs back strap so she can run in them. She's adult size 4 or 5. Age 10. Would rather not spend a fortune.
Any ideas? Thanks!

There are children's birkenstocks (with back strap) in John Lewis. Don't know how big they go.

I bet there is an adult style birki with a strap. I will search....

LIZS · 11/05/2008 18:32

Next have some similar but not sure what size they go up to.

Can I just hijack and ask how narrow the kids narrow fit are ? dd is slim foot (D/E Startrite) and we struggle with sandals.

MrsBadger · 11/05/2008 18:33

here

go to 'Birkenstocks' then 'Heel Strap' then search by her size (37) - brown, black, blue, tan, white
not hugely cheap though

Ooop, x posted with Mrs B.

Lauriefairycake · 11/05/2008 18:48

the link already posted www.footshopping.com have narrow fit and also if you end up buying real birkies then you need a size smaller, so 36

Don't forget to search the sale on that site.

VanillaPumpkin · 11/05/2008 19:54

Ooh, I disagree you need a size smaller. I can wear a 6.5 but I take a 7 birki. There should be room at the front and back. the foot needs to sit in the foot bed iyswim...

pinkyminky · 11/05/2008 20:17

Naot do them but not sure if any cheaper.

orangina · 11/05/2008 20:21

They had some really cute ones in M&S, pretty sure they went up to size 4, but wouldn't promise. About £12 or something. Fabric, not leather. Nice though...

orangina · 11/05/2008 20:23

here

fishie · 11/05/2008 20:23

baumhouse birk retailer of superbness. they are really nice and helpful too.

Posey · 11/05/2008 21:49

Thanks all, that is very helpful. Thought birkenstocks were a lot pricier than that.
Will show dd tomorrow.
