I use Johnsons night one, it smells ok and I am glowing

SueW · 11/05/2008 17:57

Don't like Johnsons.

Hate Boots website. Never actually managed to buy anything from it as so put off. Even though they are always offering zillions of extra points.

Clinique - I showered at my mum's house recently (bathroom breakdown here) and nicked some of her clinique moisturiser (shh!) and was impressed with how it made my skin feel.

When it started, the Boots website was really good and I bought lots from there. But now it seems to take ages, keeps crahing or freezing and is really hard to find anything.

Agree that Clinique skincare is crap.

Is Soltan really the best suncream btw? I need to buy suncream urgently but usually use Ambre whatsitcalled.

expatinscotland · 11/05/2008 18:44

i do rate Max Factor foundations, though.

and i've got Essie nail polish on my toes right now.

expatinscotland · 12/05/2008 13:43

I prefer Garnier sunscreen.

janeite · 12/05/2008 18:06

Cheers Expat - do they do a decent one for kids?

I alos like the Max factor foundations, especially the new, compact style one. It is actually pale enough for my ghost-like features!

expatinscotland · 12/05/2008 18:15

i finished off our Ultra Sun and bought some Garnier Rapido for kids.

So far, so goo and very easy to apply!

bobsyouruncle · 12/05/2008 18:17

Masterpiece max mascara is the best I've used. I also like the Johnsons night tanning lotion, it doesn't stink like the other one.

expatinscotland · 12/05/2008 18:18

I never did get on with the Johnson's holiday lotion or the Dove one.

Always looked tangoed. I have fair skin, but it is olive in undertone, and I think those lotions work better for people with pink or blue undertones.

I find it ok as long as I exfoliate and noisturise for a few days first. May be true about the skin colour thing though, I have pink undertones. Think it could also depend on skin type too... It's always quite pale on me, and takes a few applications to give me some colour.

scattyspice · 12/05/2008 18:29

I use Max Factor foundation. Its fine.
I also love Johnsons holiday skin (have been using Dove recently, not as good by far).

And who could argue with vaselie?

These things are all massively subjective though .

Nagapie · 12/05/2008 18:34

Not really expert opinions just random write ins by people filling in the questionnaire... nothing to stop people with vested interests writing in...

janeite · 12/05/2008 19:34

I quite like the L'Oreal tan moisturiser thingy for fair skins - I've been using it for 3 days and have a very, very subtle colour now, as opposed to milkiness, and it smells okay.
