Shark curls just won't stay in!

My daughter has just got the shark flex styler. The round brush is fantastic and the curls are also great but they just drop straight away. We've tried different ways- wet hair, almost dry hair, dry hair, using mousse, hairspray, cool shot, but just can't get them to last. Any tips?

Does she have fine, very straight hair? Mine is like that and simply will not hold curls no matter what I do. I’ve given up trying TBH.

It won’t be the appliance
it will be your daughter’s hair

No- we both have thick hair with a bit of a wave. Curls from straighteners or a wand last ages. Just can't get these ones to hold!

Sharp flex and air wraps aren't curling tools though, they're blow dry tools.
They're never going to work the same as using tongs and straighteners as they don't use the same level of heat.
There are ways to make them last longer but if you have a stubborn hair type it's even less likely to.

Have you tried leaving the curls in velcro rollers as they cool? Can help.

@coralsky speaks the truth. I think we all have unrealistic expectations of the Shark/Dyson air tools. I get a great wavy bounce from both tools on my long hair but the curls are never going to stay in. You need proper heat for that.

I’ve tried mousse, I’ve tried the L’Oreal TechniArt Pli spray plus a whole can of Elnett and they don’t stay as curls.

I don’t care how many Insta posters show tight curls. Come back in an hour and let’s see.

Yes- dropped straight away! I think we both believed the influencers with the beautiful curls so it's a bit disappointing.
