FAKE TAN: What salon tan is best? Spray tan? How do I keep it topped up?

I am full-on bluey-white and my ghostliness tends to shine through the more subtle fake tans. I also find they can look ok to start with but get patchier as the summer goes on.

Advice please for a long-lasting, even, convincing fake tan with minimum maintenance ...

go for a spray in a salon, there's one round here doing two treatments of Fake Bake for £40.

If that's too dear I've found the awful greeny colour StTropez works best overnight - but you do need someone to put it on your back - they sell it in Debenhams (online too) and other places for about £20

well the salon i had it done in once reckoen that 'fake bake' was the best result. thing is tho that you are caked in the stuff and then told to leave it overnight till washing off to reveal nice even tan. i had to walk down the street looking like id attempted to paint myself black. felt like a right twit!
i think st tropez is the same deal.
SO dont do it if you have to get the bus home

spray tan looks better right away - you still dont wash for 12 hours or so - but not sure its such a good result in the end (not as long lasting?)

do it at least the day before you want to go out looking tanned/sane

St Tropez is the best salon tan, IMO, and if you're a bit of a novice, DIY is a bad idea

Pre-mommy I was a beauty journalist and have tried all the main ones-including a fair few really dodgy, DODGY ones!

It will go patchy unless you exfoliate and moisturise, as your skin will be drier/not so dry in different places, so the tan will linger longer on knees, elbows etc.

Do you carry on exfoliating - all over - once the tan is on? I worry about scrubbing the whole thing on.

Do you mean St Tropez SPRAY tan missblythe?

Yes done the mortifying walk home Nappies (with St Tropez out of a bottle) - not for me.

Think I'll try a spray, never done that before. Does anyone here get fake-tanned regularly, for a continuous bronzed look - or just before holidays/special occasions?
