Is this ok for an engagement party? What shoes?

We have my SIL surprise engagement party coming up in April and as we've now had the official invite I am obviously looking for an outfit already!

Do you think this dress would be ok? It's at a fairly posh stately home when I've googled the venue so dressy I would have thought. I will be 6 months pregnant.

Also what shoes, a silver or gold? Or maybe a brighter colour for the (hopefully) spring weather? I was thinking a low to mid block heel sandal. And I'll take flats with me too for when I inevitably need to change into something comfier Flowers

It's extremely pale and sort of wannabe bridal to me...

The dress itself is nice and appropriate but I'd look for another and brighter colour!

I think its fine and doesn't scream wannabe bride at me.

I think I'd go silver shoes or pale blue. What colour is your bag?

Stately homes can be a bit cold, and that dress though very pretty doesn't look warm!

The bride to be won’t be wearing a bridal dress anyway, even if it were bridal looking, which it isn’t imo. There is no particular dress etiquette for an engagement party, it’s just a party.

I will also need to get a bag. I haven't got any that would be suitable I don't think

That's a good point! It's so hard to judge what the weather might be like! Maybe longer sleeves would be a safer bet
